Shen Milsom & Wilke is celebrating 30 years as a leader in technology and acoustical consulting. To honor this milestone, we are proudly sponsoring the 2016 AIA Sandcastle Competition. The world’s largest sandcastle competition on East Beach in Galveston, Texas raises funds for public education programs sponsored by the AIA Houston Chapter.
Please join us on August 20th as Galveston East Beach transforms into a wonderland of creativity while architects, designers and engineers compete for the prestigious Golden Bucket Award. With over 60 teams ready to unleash their creations, the day is sure to be filled with memories of sun, fun and sand. In addition to the Golden Bucket, awards are given in several categories including Best Traditional Castle, Best Architectural Icon, Kidtastic! – Disney Edition, Best Cinematic, Best Meme and Houston-centric as well as best team t-shirt design, best team signage, best costume, and public favorite.
The event is free and open to the public. Visit our tent across from TEAM #2 (view site map below) and cool off with popsicles and ice cold beverages.

Parking
Parking at East Beach Galveston is $15 cash only collected by the Galveston Parks Board. There is no ATM. ADDITIONAL PARKING AND SHUTTLE BUSES WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM STEWART BEACH.
