The Shed will be Hudson Yards’ art and performance venue, hosting a variety of activities in the visual arts, performing arts, film, design and fashion.
Shen Milsom and Wilke’s information technology team provided a peer review of the infrastructure and comments on the preliminary IT systems budget. Our consultants provided feedback on a distributed antenna system (DAS), which enables cell phones to operate in buildings that don’t have signal. The Shed would either connect to the Hudson Yards’ DAS or build its own.
We began by educating the design team and stakeholders on DAS, its opportunities and its pitfalls. We then connected key players in the DAS industry to further educate The Shed stakeholders. We also attended key meetings with the site’s developer to ensure our client’s needs were addressed and to provide consultation on any DAS discussion.
