Gil Lopez is an audiovisual design engineer with over 30 years of experience.
Rejoining SM&W in 2021, Gil has collectively worked for the firm for over a decade. Specializing in exhibit and experiential technology, AV technology, information technology, and show control automation, Gil practices primarily in cultural, theatrical, corporate, and convention center market sectors. He works closely with clients to help evolve their preliminary concepts and needs into a final, functional product.
As a Senior Member of SM&W’s AV team, Gil has proven experience as a project manager, and is able to not only support multidisciplinary projects from a client standpoint, but also provide direction and guidance to those within the firm. As a master of his craft, he holds many certifications, such as AVIXA’s Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) Certification and Construction Document Technologist (CDT) Certification.
When Gil is not busy designing, he volunteers in the community Emergency Operations Center, assisting with the maintenance and upgrades of the radio communications systems, and works as a volunteer for the Fire Department during emergency situations.
