SM&W Contribution

Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) was engaged directly by Bonhams, the global auctioneering house to help them reimagine their global audiovisual standards. The first location on the list to receive a refresh was their flagship global auction house, New Bond Street (NBS), in London’s West End.

SM&W worked with Bonham’s IT team to discover, define and author robust global standards and then began to look at the unique elements of implementation required for NBS. With 3 large sale rooms, SM&W began developing Direct View LED solutions for these 3 key spaces, blending these large format video displays with the already established approach to the delivery of audio, video and control signals over IP using the standards that SM&W had developed.

Once the design, budget and approach had been approved with the client, SM&W engaged the Integrator market with an RFP, to find the right partner for Bonhams and the NBS installation. The SM&W London team managed the project’s construction process with the chosen integrator, managing from start to finish the successful installation within the agreed program.

Finally, SM&W worked diligently to witness and commission all of the new systems and equipment, to ensure that the design goals had been met. This included facilitating the training, handover and close out of all as-built documentation.

In addition to the NBS London location, SM&W supported Bonhams globally, by deploying the Global AV standards that we had developed for Sale Rooms, supporting spaces and meeting facilities throughout the following locations: Knightsbridge, London. Brussels, Paris, Sydney, Boston, Los Angeles and Edinburgh.
