Inspir Manhattan is a seniors’ apartment building located in the city’s Upper East Side. The 212,000-square-foot, mid-rise building will stand 23 stories and feature 215 luxury units for assisted living, enhanced care and memory care. The units will be a mix of studios and 1-bedroom apartments. When completed it will be one of the first ground-up project of its scale in the city in more than 20 years.
Amenities include terraces, bistro/pub, salon/spa and an art studio as well as multiple dining areas, activity rooms, chapel/theater, libraries, private dining and a wellness area. The building will also consist of a roof deck classified as an I-2 institutional space, additional gathering areas, along with outdoor terraces.
SM&W’s acoustic team assisted with multiple aspects of the building design: sound isolation between apartments and between apartments and common areas, interior acoustics to control the build-up of noise so that speech and audio program clarity is enhanced, mechanical noise and vibration control, and exterior to interior noise control.
