Shen Milsom & Wilke provided acoustical and audiovisual consulting expertise for the McCormick Place Wintrust Arena. This 10,500-seat arena and event space is home to DePaul University’s basketball teams, both men’s and women’s, while also offering a unique venue to provide sporting, music and concert events to the McCormick Place Campus. McCormick Place Campus is one of the largest convention facilities in the nation.
Our audiovisual scope included the design of the broadcast and production systems, including in-house video production control room, signal distribution systems, broadcast cabling plant, large venue LED and scoreboard displays, and exterior LED systems.
Additionally, SM&W designed large venue sound reinforcement systems for the arena bowl, and done so in a way to suit various types of events. Both audio and media distribution systems take advantage of IP networking and structured cabling systems as much as possible to ensure the facility has the capability to expand and evolve into emerging and future technologies.
