SM&W Contribution
Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) was engaged on this project for audiovisual, IT infrastructure, and acoustics consultancy and design.
40 Berkeley Square is a heritage building constructed in the early part of the 20th century, with period features throughout, but has an adjoining structure, 41 Berkeley Square, which is only 10-15 years old. The six floors that were the focus of this project are comprised of 50+ meeting rooms of various sizes.
SM&W worked directly with the client to formulate robust AV global standards to can be rolled out across all of the client’s offices. The client’s new AV standards place an emphasis on high-end AV finishes that are hidden within the architecture where possible. Zoom was chosen as the unified communications platform due to one-touch dialing and ease of use. London was the flagship location that began this global effort. This office also includes a multi-purpose space that combines three rooms, making this a complex AV space complemented by a control room for live support.
The IT infrastructure is comprised of five IDFs and one MDF. Throughout the infrastructure system, there are circa 80 wireless access points and over 2,000 data outlets for IT connectivity.
