SM&W is working closely with Deloitte’s Capital Planning and Information Technology Services groups to develop prototypical layouts of Deloitte’s Next Generation Workplace. The initiative is intended to help streamline the design process for future workspace build-outs for Deloitte, allowing them to identify critical space planning information related to architectural layout, room adjacencies, room orientation, day-lighting control, millwork requirements, physical infrastructure requirements, systems equipment locations, network connectivity, etc.
SM&W has interviewed key user groups to identify the types of audiovisual systems required within Large-Medium-Small Conference Rooms, Meeting Rooms, Lounges, Reception Areas, Private Offices, etc. The scope of work includes mock-up testing for proof of concept of specific technologies being evaluated. SM&W is also identifying the IT infrastructure requirements for these spaces, to provide the necessary voice/data and wireless connections to Deloitte’s robust data network.
SM&W is producing a series of Prototypical Detail Drawings identifying all of the audiovisual and IT infrastructure requirements for Next Generation Workplace rooms. Many of the rooms include multiple configurations, providing Deloitte with the option to fit-out the spaces with high or medium levels of technology sophistication. In addition to the prototype drawings, SM&W is producing a series of specifications, indicating the performance requirements for the systems equipment and infrastructure for a given room. When complete, the prototypical drawings and specifications package prepared by SM&W will provide Deloitte with a near turn-key design, resulting in a new technology standard for their Next Generation Workplaces world-wide.
