The Inova Health Center – Oakville is a state-of-the-art, 93,000 SF healthcare facility designed to meet the growing medical needs of Alexandria, Virginia, and surrounding communities. This center is positioned as a comprehensive healthcare hub that will provide a wide array of services to cater to the diverse needs of the population. Key features of the center include a full-service emergency department for all ages, outpatient surgery, advanced diagnostic, imaging, primary and specialty care. This contains cardiology, gastroenterology and general surgery. The 24/7, 365-day emergency room will ensure that the growing population in Alexandria, VA has ready access to high quality care close to home.
Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) provided acoustics and medical equipment planning services for this project. The Inova Health Center – Oakville is a vital addition to Alexandria’s healthcare infrastructure, providing top-tier medical services and emergency care to the local community in a modern, accessible facility. What makes this project unique is its combination of not-for profit and for-profit entities that occupied the facility. One of the main challenges faced by the facility was the constant changing staff and evolving requirements from end users. Balancing these challenges while maintaining smooth operations was a concern that SM&W handled to get the job done.
