Shen Milsom & Wilke provided acoustic, audiovisual, security, and information technology consulting services for The City of Jersey City Public Safety Communication Center, Police and Fire 911 and Radio Dispatch (JCPSCC). With next generation e911 systems the capabilities seem limitless. The JCPSCC was designed to utilize state-of-the-art communications equipment to provide the police and fire first responders with as much useful information as possible.
The facility is designed to provide high speed communication channels to the resources in the street. Within the command center, SMW designed the security systems, audiovisual systems and the Information Technology used by the operators of the Dispatch and e911 systems. “Situational Awareness” was a key criterion for the integration of Audiovisual and Information Systems. Our design strives for the greatest immediacy possible to deliver full and accurate awareness from the available information streams. In addition, there is a very close coupling between the data systems and the audiovisual systems of the facility.
