SM&W Contribution
“The Philadelphia Museum of Art is currently performing a ten-year, phased modernization and expansion of its historic building. Finding pathways and integrating modern technology into the nineteenth-century structure presents the biggest challenge. Another challenge waits in the stone, three-floor atrium, which will have public gatherings, performances and presentations but the technology will be hidden when not needed.
Our solutions have included specialty speakers at ground level so sound won’t reverberate. SM&W designed a central control room with interconnectivity to all locations throughout the museum in order to accommodate museum-wide audiovisual and technology needs. This solution includes plugins for outdoor and temporary spaces.
