Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) worked on the Safra Bank Headquarters at in Aventura, Florida, a project encompassing 115,000 SF with a specialized focus on acoustics. Beginning in 2020, and expected to reach core and shell completion in 2025, SM&W was tasked with addressing the complex acoustical challenges presented by the building’s unique architectural design. This included managing noise flanking at the slab edge between floors and mitigating impact noise from rain on the exterior metal facade elements. Through detailed analysis and strategic design solutions, these challenges were effectively controlled to ensure the building’s acoustical performance met the highest standards.
A significant aspect of SM&W’s involvement was ensuring speech privacy within the bank. Given the confidential nature of the financial discussions occurring within the Safra Bank Headquarters, it was crucial to maintain sound isolation and prevent sound leakage. SM&W’s acoustic design focused not only on controlling external noise intrusion but also on ensuring that sensitive conversations could not be overheard between spaces.
