SM&W Contribution
SM&W provided acoustical and audiovisual systems design for Sea Life Center in the city of Chongqing. The facility is built over two floors and comprises 15 themed areas with 25 ocean tanks and two interactive touch pools. The aquarium features over 150 species of marine flora and fauna.
The center provides a unique interactive experience with marine life. For example, in the pool, through the smart combination of sound and light, visitors can touch the ocean creatures while feeling the ocean’s weather changes. In addition, SEA LIFE Chongqing has designed a “black box” for visitors to perceive the ocean through a variety of sensory stimulation and multi-level learning experience.
There are two interactive show areas. The venue’s Sea Life Rangers use a combination of AV-led content, audience participation and live cameras to demonstrate the drama of life in a stormy rock pool and the majestic beauty of the stingray.
Sea Life Chongqing is owned by Merlin Entertainments, the world’s second largest visitor attraction operator which runs some of the best known names in global leisure including LegoLand and Madame Tussauds – also SM&W projects.
