ETEC is “A hub for innovation, scholarship, applied research and commercial development” located at SUNY Albany. The LEED Platinum certified building is home to a unique group of department programs including the nation’s first College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity.
Shen Milsom & Wilke provided the Audiovisual, IT and Physical Security consulting for the project that was completed in 2022. SUNY Albany’s ETEC is the new home for the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences; the Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences; the Department of Chemistry and the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center that houses the National Weather Service’s Regional Forecast Office and Training Program.
SM&W’s proven technology consulting on STEM projects throughout the SUNY system led to this milestone engagement for ETEC. SM&W’s Integrated Communications Technology team designed & oversaw the deployment of:
-A robust & highly flexible building wide IT infrastructure that encourages adaptable reconfiguration for future changes in study programs.
-Advanced Classroom Technology systems that promote learning experience & collaboration.
-Security provided infrastructure drawings and specifications to support the installation of access control and video surveillance to campus standards, with connectivity to the campus’s existing security systems.
