University of Colorado Boulder’s Center for Community sits between student dormitories and academic buildings and is used by thousands of students every week for vital student services. The building includes and a 900-person dining center and a student center with offices, meeting rooms and support spaces. It achieved the coveted Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum rating, the highest possible designation from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Shen Milsom & Wilke worked with the design team to ensure that the acoustic environment was appropriate and properly isolated from adjacent spaces. The team reviewed and mitigated potential sources of mechanical vibration and noise.
