Shen Milsom & Wilke is currently providing acoustical, audiovisual, IT infrastructure and security consulting expertise for the University of Virginia Ivy Mountain Orthopedic Outpatient Care Facility in Charlottesville, VA. The 194,000 SF comprehensive orthopedics ambulatory care center will include clinics and support services for a full spectrum of orthopedic services, including prosthetics & orthotics, advanced diagnostics and imaging, physical therapy (both indoor and outdoor rehabilitation spaces), patient pharmacy, outpatient surgery services, and a standalone central utility plant.
Our information technology team worked to provide multiple data networks and category 6A cabling infrastructure design throughout the Musculoskeletal Center. Our AV design consultants provided infrastructure design for AV systems as directed and designed by the University. In addition, we coordinated infrastructure for medical AV systems with the architectural and engineering team. To streamline coordination between the multiple design disciplines, ZGF Architects utilized blue beam sessions across the entire design team.
The state-of-the-art facility will support UVA’s mission of further advancing as an academic medical center while also prioritizing the patient experience. With the official groundbreaking ceremony held in September of 2018, the expected completion date is in early 2022.
This project is striving to achieve LEED Silver certification.
