Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is hosting a symposium on Saturday, August 4, 2018 celebrating the grand opening of the Salesforce Transit Center in the Grand Hall, located at 425 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA. Due to overwhelming interest, Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects has opened the event to the public. Seats are limited.

 

The symposium consists of morning and afternoon sessions:

 

Saturday, August 4th from 10:00AM to 12:00PM: Sustainable Urban and Economic Development (Panel One Check-In Begins at 9:15am) The session begins with a keynote by Alison Isenberg of Princeton University, who recently released a book detailing the growth of San Francisco. The Keynote is titled From Transamerica to Transbay: the Arts of Urban Renewal in San Francisco

Saturday, August 4 from 1:00PM-3:00PM: Salesforce Transit Center: Humanizing Infrastructure (Panel Two Check-In Begins at 12:15pm) The session begins with a keynote by the eminent Sir Roger Penrose, mathematical physicist of Oxford University, who worked closely with Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects to develop the Transit Center’s exterior wall. The Keynote is titled ‘Forbidden’ crystal symmetry in the architecture of the Salesforce Transit Center
